Alibaba-Zhejiang University Joint Institute of Frontier Technologies (AZFT) was jointly established by Alibaba Group and Zhejiang University. Relying on the research advantages of Zhejiang University and the broad ecosystem of Alibaba Group, AZFT focuses on the research and development of frontier and future technologies, and implementation of scientific achievements in our daily life.
AZFT consists of a number of joint laboratories and projects, covering research on artificial intelligence, ubiquitous information security, information accessibility, network and operating system, robotics, and other cutting-edge technologies.

"AZFT", the four words are from "Alibaba", "Zhejiang University", "Frontier" and "Technology". They also represent "Aspiration", "Zealous", "Force” and "Trustworthy", the core values of our institute.

  • Dynamic Storage, Expansion and Inference of Large Scale Heterogeneous Graphs

    We are in the goal of setting up a framework for mapping and connecting these close to 100 billion IDs to the 1 billion human IDs that are contained in the huge data corpus. We would like to set up a dynamic storage, expansion and inference for the large scale heterogeneous graph platform that can handle the most complete user profiles corpus in the world.

    A Knowledge Representation and Reasoning Framework for E-commerce Knowledge Graph

    The project aims to design a flexible and extensible knowledge representation framework for describing and capturing the complex concepts in e-Commerce. This framework will enable the data-driven shopping guide for consumers and product management & market regulation for e-Commerce platform over the largest e-Commerce Knowledge Graph.

    Large Scale Graph based Adversarial Learning

    Identify dense subgraphs of nodes and find potential fraud by using the mining results from the large scale graph.
    Investigate adversarial learning methods and propose intelligent fraud mining techniques to facilitate the development of the new generation anti-spam system for e-commerce.

    Business ID, Merchandise & Order Domain Modeling Research

    In order to speed up innovative business setting-up efficiency, lower down trying financial cost. Project team is supposed to abstract on diverse business mode, also predictable mode taken into count, to help system planning and regeneration on higher level view point. To archive good result of separation between platform execution and business logic and isolation between business logic, so that business lifecycle is easily viewed and managed.

  • Quantitative Quality Evaluation of Large Scale Software Systems

    This project intends to develop software quality model and software quality evaluation model to establishes a conceptual framework to understand the of the characteristics of software quality. The models will be evaluated on multiple sofware systems built in Alibaba, and tools will be developed to enable the models to be easily integrated with software development process.
